Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend Lennay Kekua made Maxim's Hot 100 List, which rates the magazine's most beautiful women in the world. The joke, which consists of an apparently invisible woman wearing a swimsuit, is a reminder of the Manti Te'o scandal, in which he was fooled by a pretend girlfriend for years.
Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend didn't do badly on the Maxim Hot 100 List for someone who doesn't exist. Lennay Kekua, whom the world found out was actually created and voiced by Te'o's friend Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, managed to beat out real stars like Jessica Chastain, Hoda Kotb, and Zooey Deschanel.
"After Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend hoax of 2012, we think it might be nice to have an invisible girl of our own to love," Maxim wrote underneath the picture. "Why not? She's got a ton of great qualities, including looking awesome in a bikini."
Te'o was formerly a star Notre Dame linebacker and a top contender for the Heisman trophy last year after leading the Fighting Irish to victory in the BCS Championship. His compelling story was that his grandmother and girlfriend died on Sept. 11, 2012- Lennay Kekua was battling leukemia when she died in a car accident.
However, Deadspin reporters began investigating Kekua in January of 2013, and discovered that she was little more than some social media profiles and a picture pulled from Tuiasosopo's friend's Facebook. Eventually, the story began to unravel, and Tuiasosopo admitted to the hoax.
Te'o claimed that he didn't know about the hoax, and thought Kekua was real for the years they dated. He went on to be picked up by the San Diego Chargers.

Maxim's joke at Te'o's expense was well-received by readers.
"Cold, Maxim. Cold. (But hilarious)," Wayne wrote on the ABC blog.
"This will only cause more anorexi girl when they try to look as good as this woman who weighs nothing," another joked.
Topping the list was Miley Cyrus at no.1, Selena Gomez at no. 2, Rihanna at no. 3, Mila Kunis at no. 4, and Jennifer Lawrence at no. 5.
