An arrest warrant for former University of Virginia football star Marcus Vick has been issued by Virginia state judge, David Pugh. The 27-year-old younger brother of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick failed to show up at a Virginia jail earlier this week to begin serving his 10-day sentence.

This is not the first time Marcus Vick has broken the law by failing to show up. His 10-day jail sentence is a result of his failure to appear for two court dates for driving with a suspended license, CBS News reports.

On Jan. 22, 2010, Marcus Vick was pulled over in Newport News, Va., and charged with driving with a suspended license for the second time. His court date was set for Feb 26, 2010. But when Feb. 26 rolled around, Vick was nowhere to be found. A warrant for his arrest was issued.

The college football star resurfaced and turned himself in early in April of the same year. Vick was released on a $2,500 bond and given a new court date for later in the month. But things did not go any differently this time around, and Vick again did not show up at court for his hearing.

Marcus VIck finally showed up in court on Aug. 25, 2011, more than a year after failing to appear. The judge sentenced him to pay $753 in fines, complete 80 hours of community service, and to serve a total of 70 days in jail. Vick's sentence was not just for driving on a suspended license, but also for his two misdemeanor accounts of not showing up to court. Sixty of Vick's 70 days were suspended and he only has to serve 10 days of jail time.

Marcus Vick was ordered to show up at the Newport News City Jail at 5 p.m. Monday, but he again did not appear, according to spokeswoman for the jail, Kathleen Carey.
