Mark Burnett and Roma Downey have released a book series "A Story of God and All of Us" inspired by The History Channel's famed "Bible" series.
The husband and wife team, who created the "Bible" series, also helped create the supplemental books.
Burnett and Downey's 3-book series includes a devotional filled with reflections, prayers, and the breathtaking cinematic photos from the television series, a novelization of the epic miniseries, and lastly, a young readers book that will ignite interest in children and young adults about the Bible stories.
In the "Reflections" edition of "A Story of God and All of Us," 100 vibrant passages are found alongside dozens of captivating images taken from the "Bible" series. Each reflection includes a Bible verse, a personal reading, and a short prayer. As a result, the "100 Daily Devotionals" are a perfect way to further enjoy the greatest book in the world- the Bible.
The personal readings were provided by both Burnett and Downey taking turns or working together, and the writer on each is demarcated with a signature of "R" for Roma, "M" for Mark, or both.
For instance, Burnett penned his take on Act 1:8: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
The "Apprentice" creator began by proclaiming himself a car buff.
"I am fortunate to have a small collection that includes a couple of American muscle cars," wrote Burnett. "Growing up in England, I admired these American cars because America was so 'cool.'"
A devout Christian along with his wife, Burnett went on to contrast the powerful feeling that driving a car achieves and the power that Jesus promised his disciples.
"The power Jesus promises is not like the power my cars possess," explained the television mogul. "The power Jesus gives is the power that helps me be the kind of man God intends for me to be."
It is the hope of Burnett and Downey that "Reflections" blesses the lives of its readers, and the couple urges those who are interested to read "A Story of God and All of Us" and to tune into "The Bible" Series on The History Channel.
"A Story of God and All of Us" books are available on Amazon.com and wherever books are sold. Also, "The Bible" series will air each Sunday at 8 p.m. until the finale on Easter.
