'Marvel's Agent Carter' Cast News, Finale Plot Synopsis: Peggy Risks Everything for Howard Stark

The season finale is finally here for the hit crime fighting TV drama series "Marvel's Agent Carter" and according to spoiler reports, it will certainly be intense and filled with action scenes.

Entitled "Valediction," a plot synopsis for the episode was posted on The Futon Critic where it specifies that Peggy (Hayley Atwell) will now face the "full fury of Leviathan, as Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) makes his return in the explosive season finale."

A report from IGN cited showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas discussing with the website about what to expect when the season ender airs -- particularly on Stark's side.

"Howard has a very big role in the finale. We'll actually see a little bit more of a vulnerable side to him because he actually has a tremendous guilt over his involvement in what is happening and feels at least partially responsible for it, even though he's only responsible in the broadest sense," Fazekas explained.

Atwell hinted that fans of the crime fighting agent will be satisfied with how Peggy was able to keep her "dignity" all throughout the course of the story.

"I think I can say that Peggy retains her dignity and her mission, and she finds an emotional closure that gives her great comfort but also gives her great drive to carry on to pursue what I think has become her destiny," the 32-year-old English actress told Marvel.com.

"I think that what the writers and directors have done so beautifully is to give the story some psychological depth as well as a really fast drive, plot-wise, to keep people entertained. The story we're trying to tell is quite archetypal and quite mythological and I feel very proud to be a part of it," Atwell added.

The season finale of "Marvel's Agent Carter" will air this Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
