Agent Carter Spoilers: Showrunners Talk Development, Superheroes to Appear?

After a short break following the coverage for President Obama's State of the Union address, the hit crime fighting TV series "Agent Carter" returns to the small screen with yet another exciting episode.

Comic Book Resources posted in their website a recently released teaser clip for this week's segment titled "The Blitzkrieg Button" and it provides some background details on how Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) grew up and found his impulse to lie.

In the video, Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) confronts Stark about the lies he's told her. The S.H.I.E.L.D. founding member pacifies the aggravated SSR officer by telling her that what he did was to protect her.

To press his point, he told Carter about his childhood struggles which in turn shaped his outlook in life.

"My father sold fruit. My mother sold shirt waist for a factory. Let me tell you, you don't get to climb the American ladder without picking up some bad habits along the way," Stark said.

A synopsis for "The Blitzkrieg Button" was posted on The Futon Critic and it reads:

"Peggy may be in more trouble than usual when fugitive Howard Stark suddenly returns for mysterious reasons. And Chief Dooley chases a new clue all the way to Europe that threatens to destroy Peggy's future at the SSR, on 'Marvel's Agent Carter.'"

Meanwhile, IGN cited series exec producers Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas speaking about the show's development. In the interview, the EPs were asked if fans should expect a showcase of superpowers.

"For the eight episodes, it's about Peggy Carter. Peggy Carter is not a superhero in the traditional sense. I always say her super power is that people underestimate her. And I'm not saying that down the line, you would never see somebody with superpowers, but, in these eight episodes we didn't really feel like…" Fazekas said.

"We had so much story to tell that we were okay. But it's not like no one said, 'You can't do that!' It was just like, well, where is the story taking us? Where are the characters taking us?" he added.

"Marvel's Agent Carter" airs every Tuesdays, at 9 p.m. on ABC.
