Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 3 Episode 2 Spoilers and Plot Recap: Lash Is Introduced as Well as a New Mysterious Black Ops Team

In the next episode of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." entitled "Purpose in the Machine," the official synopsis reads, "The team get help from an Asgardian to solve the secrets of the monolith that swallowed Simmons. Elsewhere, Agent May is at a crossroads."

In the promo for the episode, it would seem that Simmons is trapped in another world, while Ward is looking into rebuilding Hydra. The rest of the team are continuing to search for answers since they are running out of time. Coulson promises Fitz that they will find out whether or not Simmons is alive.

In some photos from the episode, it seems that actor Peter McNicol will guest star since he can be seen in several photos with the rest of the team as they look for something in an underground tunnel. In another photo, Andrew can be seen with Mack and Daisy.

The episode began with a man who was freaking out as he caused destruction with his powers. The man was named Joey and he discovered his powers after taking some fish oil vitamins. Two black cars have arrived to subdue him, but they were blasted by the shield team of Daisy, Mack, and Hunter.

Daisy managed to get Joey into a box that flew up into the air and the fans meet Rosalind, the woman who was behind the black cars. Back at the base, Joey met Bobbi who found out stuff about him through Facebook.

The team was trying to figure out who Rosalind was, aside from being the person behind the Black Ops. Daisy attempted to talk to Joey, but that did not go over so well. Daisy took him down hard and she decided to go see Lincoln because she needed his help.

Lincoln does not want to help Daisy and Mack. They encountered a villain named Lash and he was the one killing the other inhumans. Daisy and Lincoln joined their powers, but Lash got away.

Fitz followed a lead in order to understand the monolith, while Coulson and Hunter got the drop on Rosalind only to discover she was two steps ahead. Coulson and Rosalind talked about the inhumans. Coulson and Hunter got away from Rosalind. The episode ended with Simmons as she run away from something in an unknown land.
