'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Eos Radiation: Survival Tips, Important Missions

Bioware and Electronic Arts' newly released "Mass Effect: Andromeda" game takes players to different planets as it explores the Andromeda galaxy.

Players will find themselves on Eos, the first planet encountered in the game, which has a big hazard and radiation problem - a radiation level 3 concern to be exact.

To survive this ordeal, players must heed the warning of their companion, SAM, who never fails in informing the main character whenever an area is high in its radioactive levels.

It does not matter whether players are exploring Eos by foot or via Nomad (the space vehicle). Once SAM gives the warning, players should avoid the area or risk death.

But how can players continue on with the Eos mission without dying from radiation? Players just need to stick with the main missions and quests, and avoid straying too far.

The most important mission in Eos is to get three monoliths back online. Monoliths are marked on the map, but players need to clear the place from any Kett or Remnant and scan it for hidden glyphs before finally acquiring the monolith.

Eventually, once players have completed several missions, the radioactivity around Eos will go lower and become more bearable. This could allow players to explore the planet once more without the deadly radiation.

Exploring the planet using the Nomad will also give players added protection from the harmful radiation because of its life support system and ability to restore a suit's protective features. However, the vehicle needs to be charged once in a while. To do this, players need to find settlements like a Forward Station or Outpost within Eos that can allow them to recharge Nomad.

Players are also free to roam around these rather safe settlements, but while doing this, it is recommended to be constantly on the lookout - just in case an area's radioactivity level becomes too high.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
