Mat Kearney’s ‘Undeniable’ Grabs Radio Single Record

Inpop Records’ new recruit, Matt Kearney, is now the record holder for most out-of-the-box adds for a radio single on the R&R Christian CHR chart with his first single, ‘Undeniable.’ The song, which was delivered to radio stations via digital download, was added to 19 station’s play lists, breaking the previous record of 17 held by Third Day’s ‘Come On Back To Me.”

"I'm absolutely blown away by the effort from our radio department," said Rob Poznanski, marketing director for Inpop. "They've put in a lot of work around a great song. The fact that all of these stations added this song via digital download marks a real milestone. We're thrilled to see how radio has embraced our efforts to use digital downloads effectively. We were able to go from mastering the song on a Wednesday to stations playing the single a little more than 24 hours later."

WAY-FM's Mike Couchman said, "There is NO artist like this. I really think Mat Kearney could help elevate the format and the genre to a whole new level!"

Kearney’s Inpop debut album, Bullet, is scheduled for release on October 19th and features 11 songs co-written by Robert Marvin and Kearney, who also co-produced the project. The title track, which contains the lyrics, “I would take a bullet for you/I would lose it all and take my fall to show you its for real," was inspired by John 15:13.

"I really wanted to create a modern day interpretation of the idea that 'Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends,' and what that would really look like," said Kearney.

Bullet displays Kearney’s unique blend of acoustic rock and hip hop, which found its home at Inpop, as the artist shares:

"I love timeless music, and my goal was to create a record that combines my personality and my varied musical influences to create something really unique," said Kearney. "The people at Inpop share that vision with me and that's why I'm so excited to be a part of what's going on there."

"Every once in a while, a new artist comes along and puts out a great debut recording -- a project that calls for a new standard," said Inpop co-owner and Newsboys' lead singer, Peter Furler. "I can't wait for everyone to hear Mat Kearney."

Marketing for Bullet began in June and has included aggressive street team marketing efforts at all of this summer's major festivals, along with online marketing campaigns developed by Milk Money Promotions.

Kearney is currently preparing for a 35-city tour with labelmates Shane & Shane which begins in early October.
