The 42-year-old actor married Alves, a Brazilian model, just last month during a private ceremony at their Austin, Texas home. Guests included Reese Witherspoon and Woody Harrelson.

The couple have been together for six years and already share a son Levi; 4, and daughter Vida; 2.

McConaughey revealed that his children took on important roles in their parent's wedding.

"Levi brought the rings on a necklace," said the actor while on "The Today Show."

"Vida was the flower girl," he added. "I don't think she dropped one petal."

Most recently, McConaughey appeared in the new film "Magic Mike" alongside Channing Tatum and Joe Mangienello. The comedy has recorded about $50 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada so far, according to the tracking firm Box Office Mojo.

McConaughey noted that part of the reason he agreed to portray a male stripper in "Magic Mike" was because of the Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh.

"I've been a fan of his work for a very long time, so I knew it wasn't in typical hands," said the actor, according to MSNBC. "He pitched me the story and then pitched me the character, and I was immediately laughing. He said there was room to be loose with this character. It wasn't even written that I would be dancing."

The actor is best known for his roles in films such as "How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "Lincoln Lawyer," among many others.
