Mavs Could Be Eyeing Jeremy Lin After All-Star PG Monta Ellis Chooses Free Agency
Jeremy Lin's career has been a roller coaster since his "Linsanity" days in New York. The former Harvard standout was acquired by the Rockets in 2012 and played for two seasons alongside James Harden, who became a superstar in his stay with Houston.
Unfortunately, the Rockets' dreams to acquire Chris Bosh last off-season pushed GM Daryl Morey to trade Lin to the Lakers. But just when everyone thought that purple and gold will be a good fit for Lin, starter Steve Nash was injured and pushed into retirement.
Being put in charge of a first unit he seldom played in the pre-season, Lin failed to deliver.

And so, it comes back to this time of the year where we figure where the 26-year-old guard will end up.
According to several rumors from league sources, the Mavericks are among the teams that are eyeing Lin, not as a backup point guard, but a cheaper replacement for Monta Ellis, who opted out of his contract and chose to be a free agent.
Last season, Ellis averaged 18.9 points, while Lin only managed 11.2 points and 4.6 assists. However, Lin's reduced market value will be a major factor for Dallas, who are reportedly interested in a couple of bigs during the free agency period.
In case Lin gets signed by the Mavs, he will re-unite with his former heat teammate and pal Chandler Parsons, and his favorite roll man in New York, Tyson Chandler.
