"Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond" is a new documentary currently in production focusing on the Mayan civilization that claims to provide evidence of contact between the ancient tribe and extraterrestrials, the film's producer and a Mexican government official has announced.
Raul Julia-Levy, the film’s producer, said “Mexico will release codices, artifacts and significant documents with evidence of Mayan and extraterrestrial contact, and all other information will be corroborated by archaeologists."
Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado, the minister of tourism for Mexican state Campeche, told TheWrap.com that new evidence had come out "of contact between the Mayans and extraterrestrials, supported by translations of certain codices, which the government has kept secure in underground vaults for some time."
He also spoke of "landing pads in the jungle that are 3,000 years old."
Actor Raul-Julia, father of Julia-Levy, said "men of dark intentions" ruined the Mayans plans of ruling the Earth for thousands of years, and left behind clues of an advanced race.
The filmmakers were granted permission to search previously unexplored portions of Calakmul, a Mayan site. Adding to their area research, the Guatemalan government also granted access to artifacts and sites.
While Mexico and Guatemala are not talking about possible aliens, they are offering their support to the filmmakers and letting them use whatever resources available to investigate these claims throughout the Mayan land that passed through both countries. The governments were working "for the good of mankind," said Guillermo Novielli Quezada, Guatemalan prime minister of tourism.
The documentary is slated for a late 2012 release, before the Mayan calendar ends. They will begin shooting Nov. 15.
The Mayan calendar ends on Dec. 21 2012, and supposedly signals the end of the world through overwhelming natural disasters. Scholars feel this may just be a maker to reset the 5,126 year cycle.
