Meizu MX5 Rumored Specs Show More High-End Features, Chipset Allegedly Tops Galaxy S6 SoC

The Meizu MX5 has not even been announced, yet there are already a ton of features and details that we already know about the device. Whether that is intentional or not on the part of the Chinese company is not important.

The important thing is this unannounced smartphone is definitely getting the attention of the Android-loving market.

According to a recent report by Phone Arena, the device has appeared in another benchmarking app, this time Geekbench. In the report, the device reportedly outperforms the Samsung Galaxy S6 with its own MediaTek MT6795T SoC, also known as Helio X10.

Yes, you read that right. The Galaxy S6's Exynos 7420 is reportedly slower than the MediaTek-made chipset.

In the report, the Geekbench results measure the device's average multi-core performance, something that is caused by extensive multi-tasking, mobile gaming, video playback, Internet browsing, etc. The MX5's MediaTek Helio X10 may have won the battle this time, but it does not perform as well in terms of single-core run tasks and operations.

In layman's terms, this means the upcoming Meizu MX5 should be able to outperform the Galaxy S6 when it comes to tasks and operations that require multi-core CPUs. On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 will do better in most day-to-day tasks like text messaging, scrolling, basic animations, and calls.

Based on previous reports, the Meizu MX5 will see the light of day on June 30 next week.
