Melissa Gorga Defends Herself Against Teresa Giudice Claims

Melissa Gorga, the 34-year-old singer from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" decided to take to blogging to defend herself against claims that she was not hasty enough when it came to visiting her father-in-law in an intensive care unit.

Gorga has been feuding with her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice since joining the show in its third season. In the most recent season five episode, Giudice questioned why Gorga let four days go by before visiting her father-in-law in the hospital.

Although Gorga briefly attempted to defend herself on the show, she decided to blog more in depth about the matter.

"For the record, my in-laws never demanded to know where I was. They knew I was at home caring for my husband," Gorga wrote on her Bravo TV blog entry. "My mother-in-law always tells us not to come visit them if the kids have runny noses. She certainly didn't want me in the ICU with a sore throat and a sick husband at home."

Although Gorga seemed hesitant about her hospital visit when speaking to Giudice on the show, she explained why on her blog.

"Yes, I was a little shaky on the timing of my visit. I could barely remember what I had for dinner last night, let alone recite my schedule on command,"Gorga wrote. "To the best of my recollection, this was what actually happened, and when on Sunday at 3:00 AM, my mother-in-law called us to say Joe's father couldn't breathe. Joe didn't hesitate. He got up, and rushed to the hospital."

Gorga admitted she was not perfect and revealed once and for all the amount of time it took her to visit her father-in-law in the hospital.

"I've been walking on eggshells with her for ten years now, and my feet are killing me! I'm not perfect. I never said I was perfect," Gorga wrote. "I make mistakes like we all do, and obviously I can't count. I actually had to laugh at myself for arguing if it was three or four days. I still consider it three, which is closer to one, but whatever! LOL!"

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. E.T. Bravo TV.
