Melissa Joan Hart Sheds 40 Pounds, Flaunts Slim Figure

Melissa Joan Hart revealed a slimmed-down figure this week after shedding 40 pounds by using Nutrisystem.

The 37-year-old actress is a NutriSystem ambassador and explained that the diet helped her shed the weight after the arrival of her third child back in 2012. In a new NutriSystem commercial, Hart wears a bright blue one-piece swim suit, revealing a toned-down, slim figure.

According to the "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" star, NutriSystem helped the weight come off, and since beginning the programming in Feb. 2013, she has "lost three jean sizes, and all my baby weight and then some," according to Us Weekly.

Hart and her husband Mark Wilkerson welcomed their third son Tucker in late 2012, and the actress admitted that she had gained 60 pounds during the pregnancy. Nevertheless, the "Clarissa Explains It All" was in no hurry to lose the weight.

"For me, it was important to bond with my child, as opposed to 'lose the weight,'" she explained to Entertainment Tonight from the Nutrisystem comomercial shoot. "So I waited until I was ready, and I knew that I had the time, and then I made it a priority that I would eat well."

Once she was ready to start getting back in shape, Hart turned to Nutrisystem.

"I felt prepared," she said, according to ET. "I was confident."

Now, the "Melissa & Joey" star said she is feeling "pretty amazing."

"I could live like this," she added. "I love where I'm at and I feel amazing."

The weight loss also gave Hart the bravery to finally wear a swimsuit, which is featured in the NutriSystem commercial.

"I don't wear bikinis even when I do go to the beach, so when I put it on in front of the cameras and all these people, and my husband showed up- it's nerve-wracking but the feeling is very satisfying," she said.
