Melted Crayons Reveal Jesus Image to Missouri Mother

A woman has claimed to have seen Jesusin her son’s art project. Tara Gomez of Blue Springs, Mo., told ABC's 7 Action News that she was not expecting to see God when she found a children’s art project on the Internet.

She and her son completed the project, which involved melting crayons in the oven and then freezing them. However, the mother was stunned when her son pulled the crayons from the freezer; Gomez saw what she claims to be an image of Jesus in the wax of the melted crayons.

“I'd been praying and praying about certain things, and I asked God for a sign and I think the crazy thing about this, and I dunno, what better sign to get then right in front of you,” Gomez told another local news station.

Many lucky finders of a Jesus image take to eBay to sell their discoveries for cash. Dana O’Kane sold a pancake with the image of the Virgin Mary and Jesus for $29 on eBay in Nov. 2007.

In June 2011, Lou Balducci posted a chair with the image of Jesus for $25,000 on eBay.

One company, Burnt Impressions, has attempted to cash in on the Jesus image phenomena through its invention of the “Jesus Toaster,” which burns an image of Jesus onto bread.

The Gomez family told a local news station that they will hold onto their Jesus image for good luck.
