Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain Release Date, News: Konami Q3 Report Points to Mid-2015 Launch

Latest strings of rumors now suggest that "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain" might be released this summer of 2015 and that it will be larger than Rockstar's GTA V in terms of map scale. An official Konami Q3 Release pipeline stated the news.

As posted on an Italian website, The Phantom Pain, which was located in bottom of the list, will arrive "globally" in current-gen PlayStation and Xbox game consoles and their respective previous versions as well as on PC this 2015.

"The financial quarters of businesses differ from one another depending on workflow," DesignNTrend reported. "For Konami however, Q3 reflects an approximate release date somewhere between July and September of 2015. For those not an expert on seasons, that window modestly places 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' as a possible summer 2015 game."

The media publication meanwhile stated that the report comes in direct conflict with another Konami financial document stating the likelihood for the title to come out "between April and June of 2015."

Putting aside release date news, a report from KPopStarz meanwhile indicated the upcoming title's game map which, as revealed, would be much bigger than that of Grand Theft Auto V's Los Santos.

An analysis presented by NeoGaf forum user Love Deterrence stated that the new map is "1.2 to 2 times" bigger than the ground scale of the MGS: Ground Zeroes map. Love Deterrence went on to specify that The Phantom Pain map could also be 7 x 7 times bigger than the portion presented during the Tokyo Game Show 2014 event.

The user went on to stipulate that since the forthcoming game has been reported to include at least two maps, which is Africa Afghanistan, this could mean that MGS: The Phantom Pain could actually be 1.5 - 2x bigger than that of GTA V's map.

The site, however noted that Kojima Production might still reveal more maps before the title will be launched.
