Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots is a huge game in the NFL in Week 8 in an all AFC East match up. The Patriots will know how important it is to claim wins against their AFC East rivals, and following their loss to the New York Jets last week they will want to bounce back and begin to consolidate their position at the top of the division. The game will start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

New England Patriots Tom Brady passes against the New York Jets during the first quarter of their NFL football game in Foxborough, Massachusetts October 21, 2012.

The Patriots come into this game with a record of 5-2, and their form has hit a bit of a bump recently as they have suffered two defeats in their past three games. In Week 5 their offense was almost completely shut down in a 6-13 loss to Cincinnati. They bounced back from that with a tight 30-27 win over New Orleans in Week 6, but then last week they suffered a shock loss by the exact same scoreline – 27-30 – to the New York Jets.

The Dolphins meanwhile are 3-3 coming into this game, and are suffering an even worse turn in form than the Patriots. Miami started the season 3-0 but have since lost three straight games to completely undo their good early season work. They know they have to stop the rot and fast before they lose so much ground their playoff hopes are trashed.

The Dolphins must stop the Patriots' run game, and if they can nullify that threat they should stand a chance. New England have been having some problems on the pass, and so have relied too heavily on their run game.

In offense the Dolphins must protect Ryan Tannehill, and they will be looking to run the football to keep the Dolphins' pass rushers at bay. The run game was successful against the Buffalo Bills, with Lamar Miller posting 48 yards on 9 carries and Daniel Thomas running for 60 yards for 12 runs.

Meanwhile, the Patriots' defense have allowed the second-most run yards per game in the NFL. The Dolphins need to exploit this weakness and get New England on the back foot.
