Miami recorded their first win in their third game as they hosted the Atlanta Falcons on August 29.

Behind a field goal from Matt Bryant, the Dolphins fell behind early in the game but they were able to bounce back from a pass by Ryan Tannehill to Rishard Matthews for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Bryant kept the Falcons close with his second field goal as the half ended with the Dolphins holding a 7-6 lead.

Miami let go of the lead in the fourth quarter with another Bryant conversion, but his Dolphins counterpart, Andrew Franks, made his attempts count as he converted two attempts late in the final period to hand Miami a 13-9 victory.

Prior to that, Miami lost a close game to the Carolina Panthers and a blowout against the Chicago Bears.

On the other hand, Tampa Bay began their preseason with a 26-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, with Jameis Winston playing his first game for the Bucs in the loss. He showed signs of brilliance but also inconsistency that was expected from the young prospect.

Tampa Bay stuck with the rookie in the second game and he led the Bucs to a 25-11 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, with Winston completing 8 out of 13 passes for a total of 90 yards.

However, in their most recent match, Tampa Bay were thrashed by the Cleveland Browns as Winston was sacked four times in the game which ended 31-7.

Cleveland scored 14 points in the first and third period to dominate their rivals, with Doug Martin as one of the lone highlights for Tampa Bay with nine rushes for 40 yards and scoring one touchdown.
