Miami Heat News, Rumors: Heat Loses to Cleveland Cavaliers in Preseason Game

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat faced off against each other during a preseason game in the HSBC Arena at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at the weekend, and the game ended with the Heat's loss with a score of 122-119 in overtime. It was the first time LeBron James has faced his former teammates since his signing with the Cavaliers earlier this summer.

When James made the transfer to the Cavaliers, the Heat made it clear that they were moving on and focusing on making the cut without James. Still, over the weeks there were some comments made towards James which surprised the former Big 3 player.

Dwayne Wade had said that he didn't have fun the past season and that Chris Bosh said he found playing with James frustrating in some ways.

"There was a certain level of strangeness to it. I think it benefits both teams to get the awkwardness out of the way in the preseason," Erik Spoelstra, the Heat's coach said.

Before the game's tipoff, James embraced his former teammates and even exchanged some words and a smile with Mario Chalmers after the game.

"I like the fact we could get everything out of the way. Just let everybody see it, so we can move on. As far as seeing LeBron on another team, we're pretty much over that now," Bosh had said regarding facing off against his former teammate on the court.

James seemed to be unfazed by the fact that he was facing off against his former teammates but it was different afterwards.

"It was a special moment, competing against my old team. I didn't get an awkward feeling. I did get a lot of memories coming back. It was definitely great getting to see them," said James.
