Miami Heat Trade Rumors 2016: Heat Have Their Eye On Tony Wroten, Dorell Wright

The Miami Heat is reportedly interested in acquiring the services of guard Tony Wroten and small forward Dorell Wright.

In a report by Michael Saenz for Fansided, the Heat is currently pursuing Wroten, especially after some of the team's players got injured, like Goran Dragic.

"Miami has been trying to get away with Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson as the team's primary ball-handlers in the absence of Dragic and Udrih, and it simply hasn't worked," an excerpt of the report reads.

The 22-year-old Wroten, who was a first round draft pick by the Memphis Grizzlies, was recently released by the third team he has played with, the Philadelphia 76ers. In the eight games he has played with the team, so far, he has averaged 8.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 0.4 steals, through 18.0 minutes of playing time per game.

Another name on the list of prospects for the Miami Heat is forward Dorell Wright. Like Wroten, the 30-year-old professional basketball player was also a first round draft pick by the Miami Heat in 2004, where he played for six years. The Golden State Warriors then signed him in 2010, where he played for two years.

Dorell would eventually jump around other teams such as the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trailblazers from 2012-2015, before signing with the Beikong Fly Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) in July of the past year.

In another report by the Miami Herald, the reason behind the Heat's interest in signing Wright was mainly due to his outside shooting skills. In 2010, Wright managed to set a franchise record for the Golden State Warriors when he made nine three-point field goals in a single game.

During his last NBA stint with the Blazers from 2014-2015, Wright played a total of 48 games, and was averaging 4.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 0.4 steals through 12.4 minutes of playing time per game.
