Miami Heat Trade Rumors: Heat Interested in Acquiring Omri Casspi From Kings

The Miami Heat is reportedly keen on acquiring the services of Sacramento Kings forward Omri Casspi.

According to a series of tweets by Christopher Cochran of TheTicketMiami.com, the 27-year-old Casspi is currently on the Heat's radar, in exchange for injured guard Tyler Johnson. Johnson has been on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury and is expected to be out for two months.

Casspi is not the only player on the Kings roster that the Heat has its sights on. According to a tweet by Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the Heat is also targeting small forward Rudy Gay, with the hopes of finding an effective wing man.

Casspi, on the other hand, was a first round draft pick (23rd overall) by the Sacramento Kings in the 2009 NBA draft. He played with the said team for two years, before moving to Cleveland to play for the Cavaliers in 2011.

The Houston Rockets then signed him in 2013, and then went back to Sacramento in 2014.

For the current season, the 27-year-old Israeli professional basketball player has played in 48 games so far and is averaging 12.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.8 steals, through 29.3 minutes of playing time per game.

The Kings are currently situated at the number ten spot at the Western Conference standings with a win-loss slate of 22-31. The Heat, on the other hand, are at the number five spot at the Eastern Conference standings with a win-loss slate of 29-24.
