Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers takes place in the NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference Final Game 1 on Wednesday night – a repeat of their tough six game postseason battle last season when Miami came through. The game is scheduled to tip off at 8.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
Although the Heat will be the favorites for this series, the Pacers will believe they have what it takes to win through and be given the chance to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. The Pacers won the regular season series 2-1, and they will know if they can just stay at the top of their game they will have as good a chance as any team in the NBA to take down Miami.
However, the Heat have the advantage when it comes down to some other stats; for points per game the Heat have an average of 102.9 points, compared to the Pacers' 94.7 points. The same stats when looked at per 100 possessions, the Heat again win with 110.3 points compared to 101.6 points.
Defensively though the Pacers are on top, allowing just 90.7 points per game on average, compared to the Heat's 95.0 points. Again when looked at per 100 possessions then the Pacers are still better with 96.6 points allowed compared to the Heat's 100.5 points.
If the Pacers are going to win this then they will need to put their tight defense around LeBron James and keep him quiet. James is the Heats' leading scorer with an average of 26.8 points per game. In comparison the Pacers' leading scorer is George with just 17.4 points per game.
