Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers takes place in the NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 on Monday night in the winner takes all showdown between these fierce competitors. The game is scheduled to tip off at 8.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Big 3 era is under threat and LeBron James and friends are facing a surprise elimination if they underperform tonight. Although many had predicted this to be a tight series, most would have penciled in the Heat as the conference champions without hesitation. However, the Pacers have different ideas and are refusing to step aside for Miami to be crowned conference champs again.
The Pacers have revealed that the Heat are not invincible, and have shown up some of their top players as seriously underperforming. Dwyane Wade has not played anywhere near as well as fans have come to expect from him, and Chris Bosh has struggled, and just hasn't been up for the rebound. Both have seemingly lost confidence, and have left LeBron James overwhelmed in carrying to weight of the team's expectations on his shoulders.
Of course, the Pacers have had a lot to do with that, and they have done a fantastic job on disrupting Miami and not letting them get into any sort of consistent stride through the series. No matter how fiercely the Heat have tried to pull out ahead in games, the Pacers have almost always been there or there abouts sniping away at the Heat.
If the Pacers do end up losing tonight they will look back at Game 1 with frustration. They will feel they should have won that opening game, but had it snatched away from them with James scoring a game-winning lay up with literally the final action of the game.
They rallied in Game 2 and claimed a well-deserved on the road win to level the series. However, James and the Heat came back aggressively in Game 3, and even though many thought that was the start of Miami turning the screw, Indiana fought back gallantly to claim Game 4 and again level things up. The Heat went home for Game 5 and again got their noses in front, however, the Pacers once again came back to level things up in Game 6 and set up this winner-takes-all final game in Miami.
Miami will still be favorites to win tonight; they are playing at home and have not yet been behind in this series. However, if they are to win and claim the Eastern Conference title then it will probably be LeBron James carrying them over the finish line.
Whoever wins tonight and claims the Eastern Conference title will play the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals Championship Game with Game 1 scheduled to take place on Thursday June 6.
