Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte at USA Swimming Trials 2016 – The Schedule and How to Watch the Live Streaming

Olympic Medalists Listed for Several Events But May Not Complete All

The psych sheet for the participants in the USA Swimming Olympic Trials has been released revealing big names swimming for a spot on the Rio 2016 Games including Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Katie Ledecky.

Five Events for Phelps

Phelps is listed in five events including the 100 and 200 freestyle, the psych sheet revealed. Swimming World Magazine, however, noted that this does not mean that the 30-year-old will complete all until the finals round.

If the swimmer does well in other events, he could then be considered to be part of the relay events like the 4x100m and 4x200m categories.

Ryan Lochte Listed for Six Events

Another big name for the trials is Ryan Lochte, the 11-time Olympic medalist whose name appeared six times on the sheet. He is set to compete for the 400 IM, 100 and 200 free and 200 back, among others.

However, just like Phelps, Swimming World Magazine claimed that he could only swim for the 100 free during the early part of the competition. This will also give him an instant pass on the relays.

Who is Katie Ledecky?

Young female swimmer Katie Ledecky is also the talk of the town when it comes to the USA Swimming trials since the 19-year-old holds 11 world records in various categories. She is set to compete in the 200, 400, and 800 freestyles.

She is expected by many to surpass her own records in the 400 and 800 freestyle. Ledecky is also to hold all world records from the 200 freestyle to the 1,500 freestyle. This was last achieved in 1972 by Australian swimmer Shane Gould held every record for the freestyle category.
