Michigan Wolverines vs South Dakota State Jackrabbits takes place in the NCAA 2013 tournament on Thursday night in a mouth-watering second round match up. A place in the third round is at stake and both sides will know now is the time to deliver the goods after good season. The game is scheduled to start at 7.15 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
No. 4 Michigan State will be favorites for this South Region game at the Palace of Auburn Hills. However, No. 13 seeds South Dakota State will provide a stern test for the Wolverines. The winner is scheduled to take on either No. 5 seeds VCU or No. 12 seeds Akron in a third round game on Saturday.
The Wolverines were disappointing in their opening game of last year's NCAA against No. 13 seeds Ohio. Their big players did not show up, with Trey Burke shooting just 5 for 15 from the field for 16 points. The Wolverines went on to lose 65-60.
However, the side has redeemed themselves somewhat, becoming the top ranked team in the country for the first time since 1992. Not everything has gone their way though, and they went through a bad run of form in the middle of the Big Ten, when they went 1-3. They eventually lost to Wisconsin 68-59 in the semi finals, despite Burke managing 19 points and seven assists.
Michigan have the 27th best offense in the country with an average of 75.2 points per game, and are also ranked 9th in field goal percentage.
South Dakota State went through most of the conference tournament unscathed, and eventually defeated in-state rival North Dakota State 73-67 just last week.
