Microsoft Lumia 435: Smartphone Gets Certification from Brazil, Specs, Release Date

Since Microsoft has acquired Nokia, the tech giant has looked into launching budget phones to rival the Nokia X, and soon, the company is about to release the Microsoft Lumia 435, which has recently been certified by Brazil's Anatel, according to a leaked document obtained by Janelatech.

The report suggests that the certification authority did not release any pictures of the device as Microsoft has requested a short-term confidentiality agreement until Jan. 30, so it's very possible that the new smartphone could be released no later than February 2015.

The Microsoft Lumia 435 is expected to be smaller than the Lumia 535, and it will measure 118.1mm x 64.7mm in size with a thickness of about 11 to 12mm. The phone will have a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and a pixel density of 235 pixels per inch.

The entry level handset will feature a Snapdragon 200 processor and will come in two models: the single SIM card variant, and a dual-SIM capacity which is always a hit in the Asian market.

The Microsoft Lumia 435 will run on Windows Phone OS, a platform that Microsoft prefers over the more popular Android operating system. The phone will come with 3G connectivity.

Rumors suggest that the device will be equipped with a 5MP rear camera, but nothing has been said about the Lumia 435's front-facing shooter.

As for the Microsoft Lumia 435's price, there has been no mention about it either, but as the device is designed as a budget phone, it is expected that the smartphone will cost lower than $100.
