Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Specs, Release Date Rumors: Upcoming Windows 10 Flagship Appears in Leaked Images

Microsoft has been trying to make its mobile platform known for the past few years, and yet Windows Phone OS has still struggled in getting a chunk of the market share from perennial favourites iOS and Android.

However, in a recent report by several tech websites, it seems the Redmond giant is preparing its upcoming flagship, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, which would probably match up with the Galaxy Note 5 from Samsung when the latter gets released some time this month.

While there are no solid rumors and specs just yet about the unannounced Lumia device, a new report from The Verge revealed that several leaked images of the device have made its way to the Internet and social media.

Based on the report, it was Chinese website WPXAP that leaked the images, showing the alleged Microsoft Lumia 950 XL in its first live snapshot. In the image, the device is seen running the latest Windows 10 multi-platform OS exclusively for mobiles, though the text is in Chinese.

In addition, previous rumors claim that the Windows maker will be launching two devices as well, following the recent trend. Aside from the Lumia 950 XL that will most likely get a 5.7-inch display, a smaller device dubbed as the Lumia 950 would also be unveiled. The smaller flagship will allegedly pack a 5.2-inch screen.

Rumors also claim that the two devices will share the same camera, a 20.7MP Pure View shooter at the back. However, the XL variant is said to boast a triple LED flash, while the smaller version gets the standard dual-LED flash.

As mentioned in earlier rumors, both devices should feature the upcoming Windows 10 for Mobile when it becomes available later this year.

Of course, all of these are mere rumors so we better take them with a pinch of salt.
