Microsoft Surface Pro 5 to be Announced in October Event? Rumored Specs and Other Expected Devices Revealed

Microsoft has really racked up their device lineup over the years with tablets, 2-in-1s and desktop devices. This October, the tech giant is set to release new devices and many fans are excited to see the outcome.

The tech giant has no doubt saturated the tech market with all their hardware and software offerings. There's the Windows OS environment, the Xbox consoles, and the multi-platform Surface devices. Of these devices, however, fans have been most eagerly waiting for the next generation of Surface devices to come.

As Microsoft is set to host an event this month, will we see the new Surface devices?

Surface Pro 5

Microsoft remains silent regarding concrete updates regarding the next generation Surface Pro 5. However, reports have stated that the hybrid device will sport impressive specs that will make the Surface Pro 5 stand out among the highly saturated tech market. They have also stated that the device will definitely be one of the highlights of the event.

The Surface Pro 5 is set to feature the new Windows 10 Redstone 2 update as its operating system. Along with this, the Intel Kaby Lake chipset is predicted to make an appearance to be the main device processor. The Surface Pro 5 is also rumored to come with a tremendous 16GB of RAM, coupled with at least 128GB of internal storage. The 16-megapixel rear camera is also improved, along with the 8-megapixel front snapper.

The Surface Pro 5 may also come with a 4K display on a 3840-pixel resolution screen. The upgraded screen will definitely be ideal for all types of media consumption. It may also come in at least two variants, with the base model sporting at least a Quad-HD screen resolution. A USB Type-C is also expected to appear in the new Surface Pro 5, along with an improved Surface Pen and Keyboard cover.

Surface Book 2

The other half of the Surface hybrid device lineup is the Surface Book. No concrete details are out yet regarding the Surface Book 2, but it is rumored to feature equally powerful specs as the Surface Pro 5 mentioned above. However, release of these devices may come at a later time due to the procurement of the processors, which will be shipping next year.

AIO Surface PC

The next All-in-One PC from Microsoft is also set to be announced at the event. Adding to the hype and excitement is the new Surface keyboard that features an all new ergonomic design. A new Surface mouse will also be introduced. The most premium specs are also expected of this device, similar to the Surface Pro 5.
