Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date 2017, Specs and Price Details: Can iPad Pro 2 Outperform Surface Pro 5?

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Will Be Released 2017

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to finally release in 2017. Fans cannot wait to try the device and see how it fairs with the upcoming iPad Pro 2.

The tablet was supposed to be released last June, but Microsoft had it delayed since they are waiting for Intel's new Kaby Lake processors. The chips won't be released until the end of 2016 and that is why the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has over 6 months of delay.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 follows its predecessor, the Surface Pro 4, which was launched in October 2015. Vine Report added that the hybrid tablet was delayed to sync with the release of Windows 10's newest update called Redstone 2.

While other tech companies like Apple and Samsung follow an annual release schedule, Microsoft isn't really as consistent. The company's launch date cycles are dependent on the progress of their devices. Fans and critics already expect that Microsoft won't follow a schedule and a forecast is difficult to make.

Apple Counters with iPad Pro 2
The Bitbag reported that Apple will be countering the Surface Pro 5 with their upcoming iPad Pro 2. The device will also launch in 2017 and will come with the new A10x processor. The outlet cited some sources online; specifically, a Chinese supplier that revealed that iPad Pro 2 will ship with an iOS 10.

The iPad Pro 2 will no longer have a headphone jack, which is rumored to be the same for the iPhone 7, Mirror reported. Additionally, the tablet will have a 64GB version that will come with an Apple Stylus Pencil and a Smart Keyboard.
