Microsoft Watch Approved by FCC, Release Following in a Few Weeks; Apple Watch Early 2015

Smartwatches are not exactly new in the tech market as Samsung has been releasing their smartwatches, the Gear line, as early as 2012. However, the market has been gaining momentum especially after the announcement of Motorola's Moto 360 and Apple's Apple Watch. However, it is worth mentioning that Microsoft is going to release their own smartwatch as well.

News about Microsoft's own smartwatch dates back to early this year but has been drowned out by other more marketed smartwatches like the Moto 360 and the Apple Watch. Microsoft is expected to release the smartwatch in a few weeks and only recently has the device been approved by the Federal Communications Commission.

Details about the upcoming smartwatch are scarce as Microsoft has specifically requested confidentiality for the device but it is reported to come in three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The watch is also reported to include a Bluetooth Low Energy Radio for all three versions.

In addition to size and one revealed feature, the Microsoft watch will be focused on fitness and is even speculated to work with both iOS and Android devices.

The Apple Watch on the other hand is expected for an early 2015 release date and details about the watch are already out. It apparently will come in two sizes, a 1.5-inch version and a 1.65-inch version. It has a rectangular-type face design, one knob and a button on the side.

Basically, at its simplest, the Apple Watch is a notification center for your other Apple devices where the Watch will display notifications, messages, simplified apps, and even Siri. This will eliminate the need to take out your iPhone or iPads everytime a notification pops up.
