Midwestern BTS Declared Missouri Baptist Day

August 25, 2004 will be honored as “Missouri Baptist Day” at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in appreciation of Southern Baptists in the state of Missouri.

“Missouri Baptists are an essential part of everything we do,” said Dr. R. Philip Roberts, president of MBTS. “This is our opportunity to give a special ‘thank you’ to Missouri Southern Baptists and the Missouri Baptist Convention.”

On Missouri Baptist Day, a chapel service is planned to be delivered to MBTS students, faculty, staff, Missouri churches, and pastors and association leaders by Missouri Baptist Convention Executive Director Dr. David Clippard.

After the service, a brief question and answer session will be led by President Roberts. A campus-wide open house tour is intended to take place.

Roberts commented, “Missouri is our home state and is one of our key partners in ministry as we biblically train God-called men and women to be and to make disciples throughout the world.” He added, “We want to show the Convention how committed we are to serving them and helping them train the next generation of pastors and missionaries.”
