Miguel Kicks Fan: Singer Regrets Failed Leap, Concerned About Victim Amid 'Brain Damage' Reports

Singer Miguel is said to be concerned after learning that a fan he accidentally kicked may have suffered brain damage.

The Grammy-award winning artist infamously tried to leap over the heads of unsuspecting fans who were placed in a moshpit at the Billboard Music Awards on May 19, but instead he landed on his bottom and kicked avid fan, Khyati Shah. While she is said to be exploring legal options, Miguel, 27, is said to be worried about her health and not a potential lawsuit.

"I don't think [a lawsuit is] on his mind. I think right now he's just hoping the girl will be fine and not have any serious damage to her head," a source told HollywoodLife.com.

"I know if he had to go back in time he wouldn't have tried to pull that off. But it's in the past now, nothing he can do," the source added.

On Tuesday Shah's attorney, Vip Bhola, confirmed that his client recently underwent neurological testing after experiencing "difficulties" stemming from the kicking incident. Shah is reportedly awaiting test results before deciding whether or not to pursue legal action against Miguel.

"He's scared for that woman and can't believe everything that went down. He's in shock at it all and feels awful, really awful," the source explained.

"That was not his intention to hurt anybody. All he wanted to do was have a big performance and do something that hasn't been done and it went all bad for him," the source added.

Miguel, whose full name is Miguel Jontel Pimentel, performed his hit single "Adorn" at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena during the annual Billboard awards event. Despite the kicking incident, he proceeded with his high-energy performance and shortly after he insisted that Shah was fine.

"Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay," a relieved Miguel tweeted after the incident.

The singer later appeared in an interview alongside Shah, who he referred to as "[my] new friend" despite them having met under "not the best circumstances." Shah, who was smiling and laughing alongside her idol throughout the interview, also insisted that she was fine and did not appear to have any visible injuries.

Bhola explained that his client's injuries appear to be internal and medical tests will offer better insight into whether or not Shah did in fact suffer serious injuries.

"Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury," Bhola told TMZ.com.

"We will determine [legal action] after we have feedback from medical providers," he told E! News.
