Miley Cyrus Unsure of Liam Hemsworth Split After 'Mixed Signals?'

Miley Cyrus is reportedly unsure about her split from Liam Hemsworth after mixed signal, and she was recently described as even being "in denial" about the situation.

On May 29, it was revealed that the couple of three years had split following relationship woes allegedly stemming from a cheating scandal. Cyrus, 20, who got engaged to Hemsworth, 23, is said to be heartbroken despite ongoing claims that the "Hunger Games" actor had an affair with actress January Jones, 35 in February.

"Miley is in denial she still thinks that Liam is going to marry her, even though things have been so up and down. She really doesn't want this to be over," a source told HollywoodLife.com.

If February, Hemsworth was photographed with Jones upon their exit from a Hollywood pre-Oscars party. Various sources claimed that at one point the unlikely pair was caught in an intimate embrace, but neither has addressed the rumors.

Cyrus initially stopped wearing her engagement ring in response to the cheating scandal, but she and Hemsworth reportedly later worked things out. The former Disney star is said to be confused about the status of her engagement amid claims the pair has split for good.

"It's really heartbreaking for everyone that loves her because Liam has been pretty awful. He gives her totally mixed signals!" the source continued.

One tabloid maintains that Cyrus and Hemsworth are over, while a renowned celebrity gossip news site insists they are not completely over.

"They are definitely over," a source told Us magazine while another told E! News "It's been rocky, but they are hanging in there."

Jones was previously asked about the alleged cheating scandal when paparazzi photographers approached the actress at a Los Angeles airport. She refused to deny or confirm the rumors.
