Billy Ray Cyrus has offered his take on the weddings plans between his daughter Miley and Liam Hemsworth this week.
The 51-year-old actor admitted he was uncertain of his daughter's engagement while promoting his new memoir "Hillbilly Heart" on ABC's "Nightline" on Tuesday.
"I don't know," Cyrus disclosed. "As I was writing the book, I wanted to keep that particular moment as open-ended as possible because I didn't know the answer."
A former Disney star, Cyrus announced her engagement to "The Hunger Games" actor Hemsworth last spring. In recent months, the 20-year-old actress has been spotted without wearing her engagement ring.
Furthering rumors of a split between Cyrus and 23-year-old Hemsworth, reports indicated that the "Hunger Games" star had cheated and that he purchased a "bachelor pad" in Australia, according to E! News.
Meanwhile, Cyrus went on to explain his uncertainty over two actors' plans to marry during his "Nightline" appearance.
"They're young, they're kids. The great news is they're great friends. They're really, really good friends. If you end up getting married, that's your business," he said.
Moreover, when pressured to answer whether or not he thinks his daughter will actually marry Hemsworth, Cyrus repeated, "I don't know."
"I really don't," said the singer. "I play it by ear and I know whatever is meant to be, that's the way it's going to happen."
However, when it comes to Miley's talent, Cyrus said never doubted his daughter would become a star.
"She did have a great deal of charisma," said the proud father. "Miley had a dream. Her dream … she is an entertainer. She's an actress. She's a singer, songwriter, and musician. I think that she would have found that dream. I think it was- this is the way that it was meant to be."
