A Minnesota high school cheerleader has been charged with promoting prostitution and sex trafficking after she allegedly pimped out a younger student.
Montia Marie Parker, 18, a senior at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, was arrested after setting an online ad on backpage.com to pimp out her teammate, a 16-year-old student. She then drove the younger girl to have oral sex with a customer and pocketed $60.
Parker allegedly drove the girl to another home the next day but the man refused so they left.
The revelation was made after the 16-year-old's mother noticed text messages between her daughter and Parker, according to Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Parker had sent her text messages and a Facebook message asking if she would have sex for money. She requested that the girl send her photos of herself that were "not too nasty but kind of cute," according to the charges.
The photos were then posted on backpage.com, but listed Parker's number.
The girls reportedly left school on March 5 and went to an apartment building where the girl met with a man. She received $60, which Parker deposited into her own bank account.
The following day, Parker called the school pretending to be the girl's mother to get her excused from school. She went back to the apartment but when she refused to have sex with the man and the man refused oral sex, they left.
According to the complaint, Parker told the girl: "You'll be fine — I didn't drive up here for nothing, and eventually you will need to have sex."
The girl's mother decided to check her daughter's phone after noticing a change in her daughter's behavior. She also heard about the unexcused absence from school.
Parker was expelled from Hopkins High School in March and faces two felony charges when she appears in court on June 12. She faces up to 20 years in prison or a $50,000 fine if she is found guilty.
