The Knicks have improved slightly and though they have added a few more pieces to their team, they still have a long way to go before lifting the franchise to the heights it once enjoyed.
On the other hand, the Wolves are still clearly a team under development, but they have the pieces all set to make them a very entertaining team in the coming years.
Their young core have delighted in their own individual paths this year but it will take some time before they can put their efforts into one goal and lead the Wolves to a positive direction.
They met earlier this year at the Madison Square Garden and it was a very entertaining match-up.
In the first quarter, both teams were scoring and it ended with the Knicks taking the lead with a 27-26 score.
When the second frame came, the Knicks seemingly found a new gear and blasted the Wolves with 33 points in the quarter while holding them to only 14 points. The Knicks were enjoying a 20-point lead by halftime.
However, the Wolves refused to simply lay down and take the loss as they battled back in the third frame and outscored the Knicks by 12 points to cut the lead down to single digits with the final 12 minutes to play.
It was an exciting fourth quarter with both teams trading baskets and Minnesota eventually winning the quarter, but their comeback fell short as they lost the game 107-102.
