Miranda Lambert News: Singer Reveals New Album Drew Inspiration from Failed Marriage with Blake Shelton

Miranda Lambert has revealed that her ex-husband, Blake Shelton, has inspired her to write her new single "Tin Man."

While Lambert is rumored to be tying the knot with her current boyfriend Anderson East later this year, it seems that she can never truly escape from the memories she had with her ex-husband as she has immortalized what she felt upon the falling apart of their marriage through a song.

According to the singer, her latest single "Tin Man," which is included in her new album "The Weight of These Wings," is a product of what she was feeling when she and her ex-husband parted ways.

"The Tin Man, I guess, going through a lot of times where I felt pretty empty, I understood a whole new meaning. I mean, how many times have we seen 'The Wizard Of Oz,' you know? But it's something that world shares," Lambert said in a recent interview.

She wrote "Tin Man" in collaboration with Jon Randall and Jack Ingram, and the song represents what she had been feeling in the process of writing it. As she and Shelton had just divorced when she started working on the single, it goes without saying that the song reflects the feelings associated with a broken heart.

"Everyone knows what the Tin Man represents: cold and empty and loneliness and heartless. And it just opened my eyes to it even more going through pain myself, you know, sort of an epiphany," the singer said.

However, "Tin Man" is not the only song in Lambert's new album that has been inspired by her divorce with Shelton. On the whole, the singer said that "The Weight of These Wings" includes songs that explain her side of the story on why she and Shelton parted ways.

While "The Weight of These Wings" may appear as a breakup album, it may not really be the case. After all, apart from being inspired by her failed marriage with Shelton, Lambert also went to reveal that Anderson has co-written some of the songs in the album, including "Getaway Driver" and "Well-Rested."

Nonetheless, according to Lambert, the "Pushin' Time" single is said to be the song in "The Weight of These Wings" album that best describes her relationship with her rumored soon-to-be husband.
