The 2011 winner of the Miss World beauty pageant is Miss Venezuela, Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colimenaraes.

Sarcos Colimenares, 22, was crowned the winner at a final ceremony in London today in front of a large crowd.

The runner up in the competition was Miss Philippines, Gwendoline Gaelle Sandrine Ruais. Following her, Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Victoria Vilanova Perez, was judged to be in third place.

Contestants from South Korea, England, South Africa and Scotland were also in the top seven in this year’s annual event.

Sarcos Colimenares has a degree in human resources and works for a broadcasting company.

One hundred and thirteen contestants from Albania to Zimbabwe took part in the pageant, which marked its landmark 60th anniversary this year.
