It was recently revealed that Mitt Romney ordered his Thanksgiving meal from the Boston Market because he had "too many kids" running around the house for there to be space to cook. The detail is one of many that have come forwards about the politician's personal life since losing the presidential election.

Mitt Romney's life has come under extreme scrutiny following his loss to President Obama. Last month he was gawked at for getting his own gas in a wealthy part of Southern California. This month, a friend reported that Romney had ordered the family's Thanksgiving meal from the Boston Market.

"One friend said they ordered their turkey dinner from Boston Market, the home-style restaurant chain, because there were too many kids running around the house to bother with cooking a feast," The Washington Post reported.

Some have found it amusing to revel in Romney's loss aftermath, although others have been more considerate.

"That transition, to happen so fast- it's got to be hard. He doesn't talk about it or really show it, but I know it's got to be painful," said L.E. Simmons, an oil investor and close friend, told The Post.

After Obama's win, Romney was accused of making some harsh accusations, but according to other close friends, the once hopeful candidate has since toned it down.

"He just said, 'I'm sorry I let you guys down,' " Jet Blue Airways Chairman Joel Peterson, also an old friend, said of a phone call he received from Romney recently.

"He sounded really calm, upbeat, warm. There was no anger or sense of defensiveness or anything," Peterson told The Washington Post.

According to a Romney aide, Romney spoke at a recent dinner and revealed his softer side, referring to his staff as family: "Even though I don't always show it, I'm very emotionally attached to you," the aide quoted to the Post.

Romney has yet to clarify his plans for the future.
