'Modern Family' Season 7 News, Spoilers: Alex Hides From Phil and Claire the Exact Details of Her Move-In Day

Big changes are coming in the lives of the characters in ABC's hit sitcom, "Modern Family" as it moves forward to Episode 2 of its Season 7. For one, there's the nerdy Alex Dunphy (Ariel Winter) moving away from her parents now that she goes to college. The Pritchetts, on the other hand, will see their young boy attending pre-school.

Citing the spoiler reports from TVGuide, (via VCPost.com), the episode titled "The Day Alex Left for College" will see Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil's (Ty Burrell) smart child already set for her move-in day. But the straight- A student doesn't want her parents to know exactly when she will move out. It is said that Alex will give the couple false information as she intends for them to treat her as an adult capable of taking care of herself and making her own decisions.

Although they are all supportive and happy for their daughter's new stage in life, Claire and Phil are still sad to see their middle child get separated from them.

In his recent interview with Yahoo TV, co-creator Christopher Lloyd said that while both of the parents are affected with their daughter's new phase in life, it would be the father who will be hit the hardest.

"I think it hits Phil a little bit harder than Claire, because Claire's more involved in her professional life at this point. Claire is much more immersed in her work life, but Phil takes it kind of hard," Lloyd said (via VCP).

Other than Alex's upcoming college life, Episode 2 will also tackle the issue involving Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) adjusting to their new situation at home. Fans may remember them renting out their upstairs unit in hopes of lightening up their tight financial situation. However, the decision turns out to be a very stressful one.

Meanwhile, Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) will now be seeing their son, Joe (Jeremy Maguire), going to pre-school.

"Modern Family" Season 7 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
