Modern Warfare 3 Release Date: Game Receives Harsh Reviews from Gamers

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” launched today and before its initial release, it received rave reviews from gaming publications with the Xbox 360 version averaging 90 out of 100.

Video game magazine Gamepro recently said not all gamers are pleased with the newest installment to the Modern Warfare series.

The publication noted how many users were trashing the game in their personal reviews.

“479 user reviews have been written, many of which are extremely negative,” reported Gamepro. “And while these are, of course user reviews, more than a few of them are articulately written hands-on reports on the game.”

Most users complained about the lack of innovation when it comes to implementing different features into the new installment of the series.

“The funny thing is I had yet to realize this was the exact same game I’ve been playing for two years,” wrote Stasismind, a reviewer on Gamepro. “This franchise is beyond repair.”

Another reviewer was more specific in his commentary on Modern Warfare 3.

“This series has had its day,” wrote TheStranger, a reviewer on Gamepro. “Time to hang it up. There is nothing innovating going on anymore with Modern Warfare.”

Other reviewers were less hard on the series but still pointed out the cracks in its foundation.

“Modern Warfare 3 still retains the explosive single player and addictive gameplay the Call of Duty series is known for,” wrote ElBoogsTheGreat, a reviewer on Gamepro. “But with this latest game signs of fatigue are starting to show.”

Gamepro said these reviews by users, and reviews from players for other profile games such as “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception” and “Batman: Arkam City” have matched closer with video game critic’s reviews.
