'Mom' Premiere Spoilers, CBS TV Start Time: Season 2 of the Show Moved to New Scheduled Time

American sitcom favorite "Mom" had been expected to return on Monday, Sept. 29 for its second season with premiere episode entitled "Hepatitis and Lemon Zest" at its 8:30 p.m. time slot on CBS. However, recent news indicated that it is postponed to Thursday, Oct. 30.

According to Digital Spy, together with "The Millers," "Mom" is rescheduled to accommodate "Thursday Night Football." Vulture further indicated in their report that the two shows will swap time slots again when the first week of January arrives, "Mom" migrating back to Monday and the other one to replace the former's Thursday schedule.

"As odd as the changes might seem, they're not entirely without logic. CBS saw how well Scorpion did behind an hourlong Big Bang, and how well Fox's first episode of Gotham did. It knows there's a good chance Big Bang reruns will do much better than Mom might have, so keeping Big Bang an hour ensures Scorpion gets a strong lead-in for the next few weeks," the site continues.

Setting aside schedule changes, "Mom" viewers will once again follow Anna Faris' Christy Plunkett, a recovering alcoholic who decided to move in Napa, California to restart her life and working as a waitress while attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Bonnie Plunkett (Allison Janney) is Christy's mother, a joyful and peaceful woman who has a dark past of being an addict, party-goer, and a drug dealer.

"Bonnie is furious when Christy's poor financial decisions threaten the family's living situation. Meanwhile, Christy agrees to help out Jill, a woman who is newly sober," the synopsis reads.

Guest stars would include Jamie Pressly as Jill, Jonny Coyne as Mr. Perugian, James Earl as Dudley and Meredith Giagrande as Andrea.
