Mo'Nique Weight Loss: Dropping 82 Pounds 'Feels Amazing'

Mo'Nique is feeling "absolutely amazing" after dropping an incredible 82 pounds recently.

The Oscar Award-winning actress opened up about the changes she made in order to lose the weight, and why, during a radio interview.

"It made me say [to myself], 'OK sis, you got these babies,'" explained the 45-year-old star on The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show on New York's Hot 97 FM. "'The twins (Jonathan and David) are 7, (stepson) Michael's 9, Shalon's 22.' I want to meet their babies."

Mo'Nique also cited her husband Sidney Hicks as a reason behind committing to her weight loss goals.

"So, I said, 'Let me stop being selfish, and eating everything,'" said the actress. "And I ate everything … I was a food junkie."

By changing her eating habits and staying active, Mo'Nique revealed that she has reached the current weight of 218- as opposed to "tipping 300" while on "The Parkers" in 1999.

The Baltimore, Maryland native stays active with weights, yoga, running, sit-ups and walks at least 10,000 steps a day.

"My goal is between 190 and 200," the comedian noted. "I am the best Mo'Nique I've ever been in my life right now."

Despite having more work ahead, Mo'Nique remains optimistic.

"I still have a ways to go, but I feel amazing," she added.

Mo'Nique is not the first high profile woman to reveal details about her weight-loss experience. Food Network star Paula Deen has also lost over 30 pounds after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes last year.

The Southern food specialist has previously stated that her favorite foods include butter, salt, cream cheese, and all things fried- but now, Deen has made serious changes.

"It's all about moderation," the 65-year-old told Woman's Day magazine. "I just needed to learn to eat a normal portion size and not overindulge."

Moreover, the 5-foot-6-inch tall chef kept the weight off by cutting back on carbohydrates and increasing vegetables.

"I eat reasonable portions," Deen told People magazine. "Tonight, I treated myself to just a half a piece of bread."
