Moody Bible Institute Celebrates Fourth Annual Homecoming

Over the weekend, students at the Moody Bible Institute attended “Gnimocemoh,” an annual gathering with a unique character.

“Gnimocemoh” (nee-mo-see’-mo), or “homecoming” spelled backwards, was sponsored by the Moody Alumni Association and took place at the Moody Bible Institute campus in Chicago, Ill. While a more typical alumni homecoming is held in February during Founder’s Week, Gnimocemoh is designed to build relationships between the Alumni Association and the current student body.

Themed “Short and Sweet,” this year’s event ran only two days from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1, rather than the usual week. Kicking off the event with a pep rally on Friday morning, the energy level remained high as students cheered on their women’s volleyball team in matches against fellow Christian schools and voted for the next Mr. Moody in the 3rd Annual Mr. Moody pageant.

Saturday was just as lively, with a 5K run around Lincoln Park at 8 a.m., volleyball and soccer games, and a scavenger hunt that took students all around the town. The day ended with a worship service and fellowship in the evening.
