Mortal Kombat X Release Date 2015: New Trailer Arrives, Features Return of Kano

The highly anticipated game Mortal Kombat X has released a new trailer. The game, which is set to be released in 2015, has teased fans about the characters that will be appearing in the new Mortal Kombat installment, and the latest trailer doesn't disappoint as it features the return of a classic character — Kano.

In the new game, he appears slightly different and somewhat older. Though his eye implant is still there, it appears to have gotten an upgrade as it now appears to change in color. Kano also looks more like a cyborg now, rather than a heavily-muscled man with some slight physical alterations.

In the trailer, Kano is seen fighting with D'Vorah, a new character. D'Vorah appears as an elfin or fairylike type of character with a dark nature, whose powers include the ability to transform foot-long, maggot-like entities into large, stinging insects on command. The battle takes place in the jungle, and as described by game creator Ed Boon, an "ancient ruins amidst an overgrown wilderness."

Kano is seen sporting a cybernetic "heart," which he pounds on for increased power. The trailer focuses on Kano's three fighting styles, "Cutthroat," "Commando," and "Cybernetic."

The Cutthroat style of fighting, when activated, makes Kano pound on his cybernetic heart to put more power behind his attacks. For Commando, he goes for a hand-to-hand fighting style wherein he can alternately deliver blows and block oncoming ones at a close range. The Cybernetic style enables him to shoot lasers and throw grenades at his opponent.

Mortal Kombat X is set for release in 2015 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and the PC.
