However, both NetherRealm Studios, the game's developer, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, its publisher, have not issued any official statements yet regarding the "Mortal Kombat X: Kombat Pack 3" expansion. It is noteworthy though that the "Mortal Kombat X" had already received two "Kombat Pack" expansions since the game was launched in 2015.

Each of these expansion packs brings four new characters to "Mortal Kombat X" that are playable for the gamers. Although now with a combined total of eight new playable characters, players have been clamoring for new ones, as well as various upgrades and improvements to the game. Among those new characters who are highly anticipated to make their way to the world of "Mortal Kombat X" through the "Kombat Pack 3" are Noob Saibot, Rain, Baraka, Sindel, and Fujin.

Co-Creator Teases

"Mortal Kombat X" co-creator Ed Boon has been known to fire up fans through his Twitter account. The game is no exception though as he has once again teased the entire "Mortal Kombat" fan base through a series of posts with polls and even a meme, all involving the "Kombat Pack 3."

These series of tweets confirm that the companies behind the "Mortal Kombat X" are indeed working on a "Kombat Pack 3" expansion. There are even talks that a "Mortal Kombat XL" version might soon be released. Details about the latter are virtually nonexistent as of yet, other than it is a possibility.

As fans have speculated, the "Mortal Kombat X: Kombat Pack 3" has been delayed due to the many other priorities of NetherRealm Studios. The game developer is still reportedly working on the DC Universe-based cross platform fighting game "Injustice 2." However, hopes are up for the "Kombat Pack 3" as the official release date for "Injustice 2" is fast approaching.
