Mortal Kombat X Release Date, Goro Pre-Order Exclusive Character

The character roster for Mortal Kombat X has changed drastically, without most of the usual recurring characters from the previous Mortal Kombat series. Only Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden the Thunder God and Kano are returning. Goro is also confirmed to be a pre-order exclusive character.

NetherRealms Studios has opted to introduce new characters and a new original, non-linear storyline.

The characters are D'Vorah, an insect-like woman who commands insects and uses it for attacks and combos; Ferra and Tor, a pair consisting of a small dwarf-woman and a giant brute; Kotal Kahn, the new emperor of the Outworld; and Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade.

Mortal Kombat X is also introducing a new combat system where each character is equipped with three different combat styles, each catering to a player's playstyle.

Cassie Cage for example has borrowed styles from both her father and mother and made it her own. One such style is called "Hollywood" where it is similar to Johnny Cage, being able to use a mid-air gun attack and a "nut cracker" attack. Her two other styles are called "Brawler" where her hands glow green and "Spec-Ops" where she can call in missile strikes.

Mortal Kombat X is a fighting game by NetherRealm Studios set for an April 2015 release. The game is to come out for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One. The upcoming title will be the tenth title in the Mortal Kombat franchise, after the Mortal Kombat reboot of 2011.
