The mother of bullied gay teen Jonah Mowry spoke out yesterday saying that she is grateful for the support her son has received.

Mowry posted a video four months ago about his ordeal that has since garnered more than 6 million views.

"I'm thankful," Peggy Sue Mowry told ABC News. "There are a lot of people that are giving their warm wishes and uplifting Jonah, and I think that's good."

The video, which Jonah posted back in August shows the 14-year-old completely silent, holding up flashcards on which he expresses the pain and torment he's experienced from being bullied about his sexuality. The song "Breathe Me" by Sia plays in the background.

At one point in the video, Jonah holds up a flashcard saying "I've cut...a lot. I have SCARS." He then rolls up his sleeves to show viewers.

However, the video ends on a positive note, with Jonah writing, "But...I'm not going anywhere...because I'm STRONGER than that...and...I have a million reasons to be here."

The video led to an outpouring of supportive comments, with gay rights activists applauding the teen for speaking up about bullying and celebrities taking notice.

Pop sensation Lady Gaga tweeted, "Thank you Jonah for being brave enough to share your story + showing us strength. You matter to millions. #TellYourStory #EndBullying."

Comedian Rosie O'Donnell tweeted, "hello jonah - u r an artist son - the video was beautiful - ur ability to express ur feelings will save u - know u r loved."

However, amidst the outpouring of support, some people have criticized the video, alleging that it was a publicity stunt and that Jonah was simply seeking attention.

Jonah's mother said that the experience has been overwhelming, and that the teen is "sick" over some of the comments people have made.

"I'm disappointed that somebody could look at the first video and then look at the second and think it's a lie," his mother said. "He's a child. He's a 14-year-old boy."

Jonah has since posted a second video saying that he is doing much better and thanking everyone for their supportive comments.

He's also addressed the rumors that the initial video was fake, tweeting, "This is the last time im saying this. The video is not fake...And also i never 'admited the video is fake' cuz its not."
