Moto 360 Review Round-up: Undeniably Stylish With Irrefutably Poor Battery Life

Motorola's Moto 360 certainly caught the attention of tech geeks, especially that it was said to be the first found Android Wear smartwatch to be presented back in March.

The Moto 360 was then launched in the US on Sept. 5 and is currently out of stock due to its high demand. Both in the U.S. and U.K., the price for the watch ranges from $250 (200 in the UK and AU$275), which make it about a hundred dollars cheaper than the upcoming Apple Watch.

Ever since it came out, the wearable device has been making news for two things: undeniable elegant design but poor specs under the hood.

In a review by CNet, the site commended for its distinctive, great watch face, with a good wrist strap and better microphones.

"The Moto 360 is a cool-looking smartwatch. There's no doubt about that," the tech site said. "But as I strapped it on my wrist for the first time, it all seemed a step below the fantastic dream-device glimpsed months ago."

They went on to comment on how the huge Gorilla Glass 1.56-inch diameter display is prone to smudging.

"The LCD screen underneath, which has a resolution of 320x290 pixels and a pixel density of 205 ppi, looks bright but not as eye-popping or crisp as some OLED displays allow. Text looks a little fuzzy and washed-out if you peer at it up close," the site went on to say.

Tech Radar meanwhile pitch in their say about the "certain beauty" of the "outer Moto 360 build quality."

"Its stainless steel housing and genuine leather default wristband make it appropriate for almost any occasion," the site said.

But setting the "good looks" aside, the smartwatch could prove to be not that good.

"The specs on the inside, however, do leave the smartwatch feeling a little hollow. Poor battery life and an underperforming processor don't do Moto 360's good looks justice," the tech site went on to say.

They also pointed out in their review the relatively dragging processor and availability of few default faces.

They, however, gave a thumbs up for its affordability and "clever wireless charging."
