Moto X Style 2015 Vs Galaxy S6 Vs iPhone 6: Can Motorola Stand Up to the Heavy Hitters?

Motorola recently announced three new phones in its new line-up, including an inexpensive high-end handset, the Moto X Style, which may very well go head-on-head with the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6.

The 5.7-inch Moto X-Style, which is expected to launch in the US in September rebranded as the Moto X Pure Edition, features a camera that can give the iPhone 6 a run for its money. It will be available via contract, and will be accessible through various carriers.

While the new Motorola handsets aren't squabbling for the same market niche as the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6, it is clear Motorola is positioning its new high-end Moto X Style against the top dog smartphones in the mobile industry today.

The smartphone manufacturer has even gone so far as to borrow from Apple's "shot on iPhone" marketing strategy to demonstrate its handset's quality camera.

The Moto X Style, with its big batteries and reasonable price point, may not come on top power-wise, but does compare favorably when stacked against the more popular Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6.

The Moto X Style features a Quad HD resolution that is equal to the Galaxy S6 vis-à-vis the iPhone 6's 1334 x 750px. In terms of processor, it carries a 1.8 GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset against the iPhone 6's 1.4 GHz dual-core A8 SoC, and the Galaxy S6's 1.5GHz octa-core Exynos 7420.

With 3GB of RAM, it trumps the iPhone 6's 1GB, but is equal to the Galaxy S6's 3GB. It stands equal with the iPhone 6's 16GB and 64GB of internal storage, but pulls backward in the face of the Galaxy S6's 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options.

In terms of camera power, the Moto X Style wins hands-down with its 21MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter in the face of the iPhone 6's 8MP and 1.2MP, and the Galaxy S6's 16MP and 5MP cameras.

Sporting a more powerful 3,000mAh battery, the Moto X Style trumps the iPhone 6's 1,810mAh and the Galaxy S6's 2,550mAh batteries. Sans carrier contract, it has a $399 price point compared to the iPhone 6s and the Galaxy S6's $199 contract-based starting price.
